As National Head of CMLS Advisory, Pierre Bergevin is focused on the expansion and scope of services offered to our clients. Mr. Bergevin brings over 30 years of experience in real estate advisory across all aspects of the business both in domestic and international markets. After a decade of production at a global real estate brokerage, Mr. Bergevin moved into leadership and developed numerous business lines prior to serving as Canadian CEO.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2020, Mr. Bergevin held a key leadership position at a global real estate investment bank, focused on institutional coverage. Mr. Bergevin split his time between New York and Toronto while supporting the growth and development of other international markets. Pierre holds a BSc from The University of Western and Honours in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business. Pierre currently serves on the Board of the YMCA of Greater Toronto and is a former Board Member of REALPAC.
Greg Russell is responsible for management of the high yield and construction financing platform in Canada. He has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial mortgage industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2015, Mr. Russell held key senior management positions at institutional and non-institutional lenders. He has extensive experience in the enhanced yield sector of the market. Mr. Russell was a key member of a private lending platform that was built from the ground up. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba.
Susan Alford works on behalf of our seniors housing clients for term and construction financing options in addition to advisory services. She is involved in financing activities from origination through to underwriting and loan fulfillment with a specialization in retirement and long-term care homes.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2020, Susan was involved in the valuation, investment and financing sectors of seniors’ housing across Canada for 33 years based in Toronto and Calgary. She has provided appraisal and consulting services with national appraisal firms. Within the appraisal sector Susan worked at Canada Mortgage and Housing as a Senior Appraiser. Her lending and financing experience in both term and construction is with a Canadian national life company and bank.
Susan holds her Bachelor of Arts from The University of Western Ontario as well as an AACI, P.App designation from the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Giulio Amodeo handles various types of financing, with particular expertise in construction and development financing. He works with privately owned development and real estate investment companies. Mr. Amodeo has 27 years of experience in the commercial finance industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2011, Mr. Amodeo spent 20 years with several prominent Canadian financial institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University.
David Barchet specializes in construction financing and commercial income-producing real estate with a focus on quantitative modeling and designing bespoke credit solutions.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2019, Mr. Barchet worked in commercial real estate finance at a prominent financial institution in Winnipeg.
David Holds a Bachelors of Science in Physics from University of Winnipeg, Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from University of Minnesota, a Masters of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto, and has completed all three levels of CFA examinations.
Andrea Cali is responsible for building the construction and interim financing platform at CMLS. With 8 years’ experience in commercial and construction real estate financing, she has financed a diverse range of asset classes including land development, residential, commercial/office and special use asset classes such as hotel, student residences and retirement residences.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2018, Ms. Cali held positions at several institutions across the financing spectrum and has developed a strong understanding of the construction financing eco-system in Ontario. Ms. Cali holds a Master of Finance from Queens University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
Rob Caparelli handles various types of financing for all types of income-producing properties, both conventional and CMHC insured, as well as high-yield financing opportunities. He works with commercial real estate investors across all asset classes. Mr. Caparelli has over 5 years of experience in the commercial real estate and has been involved with transactions totaling nearly $1B.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2014, Mr. Caparelli attended college in Lake Forest Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lake Forest College.
Paul Fallone has an extensive background in financing all types of income producing assets in major markets across Canada, with a particular focus on apartment, retail, office, and industrial buildings in Ontario and Quebec. His transaction experience includes an aggregate deal value exceeding $10B with a variety of products including term, value-add, and construction loans. He works with institutional investors and advisors, REITs, and private developers. Mr. Fallone has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2017, Mr. Fallone held various senior management positions at several prominent Canadian and international financial institutions. Mr. Fallone holds a Bachelor degree from Ryerson University, a Master of Business Administration and a post-graduate Diploma in Real Estate Development from The Schulich School of Business, York University.
Paula Gasparro handles various types of financing for all income producing assets in major markets across Canada, with a focus on CMHC insured financing for Multi-Unit Rentals, Affordable Housing, Seniors Housing, Student Housing. She works with institutional investors and advisors, REITs, and private developers. She has more than 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2018, Paula held senior management positions at Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC) for 16 years, bringing in depth expertise in commercial underwriting, product development, and policy.
Matt Hadaway handles various types of financing for all types of income-producing assets in major markets across Canada, with a focus on CMHC insured multi-unit rentals. Matt works with institutional investors, advisors, REITs, and private developers across all asset classes. Mr. Hadaway has over 3 years of experience in commercial real estate.
Prior to joining CMLS, Mr. Hadaway held various roles at non-bank financial institutions where he underwrote loans for all types of real estate income-producing assets. Mr. Hadaway attended Wilfrid Laurier University where he earned an Honours BBA, focusing on finance and minoring in economics. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
TJ Kaloti works exclusively with commercial brokers to provide them access to our proprietary funds across all types of asset classes. TJ has been working within the financial industry since 2011 in multiple capacities and has worked in commercial real estate financing since 2016.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2019, Mr. Kaloti was a senior account manager responsible for financing commercial real estate at a prominent financial institution. TJ holds a Bachelors in Business from York University and a Masters in Finance and Management Analytics from Queens University.
As Vice President of National Real Estate Advisory, Angelo Lamanna is focused on real estate transactions, infrastructure, renewable energy debt and equity advisory, M&A and is involved with the evaluation, negotiation and structuring of acquisitions and investment opportunities including specialty assets such as data centre and data infrastructure. Mr. Lamanna brings over 25 years of a progressive experience in emerging markets.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2021, Mr. Lamanna held various key leadership positions, including most recently at a leading global real estate investment bank, focused on real estate. Mr. Lamanna attended Rotmans School of Management
Chris Minor is an expert in all income-producing assets, with a particular focus on multi-family, industrial and retail. He works with income-producing owners and developers across Canada. Mr. Minor has 13 years of experience in commercial mortgages.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2013, Mr. Minor worked for over a decade in the commercial real estate lending industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto with a major in economics.
Kevin Schledewitz focuses on the construction and term financing of institutional quality real estate. With more than 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, Kevin has extensive experience structuring and sourcing commercial real estate financing for all major asset classes across the country.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2019, Mr. Schledewitz worked for 13 years in the real estate group at a major Canadian investment bank, where he specialized in commercial mortgage placements, credit lease financing, mortgage bonds and debt advisory for public and private borrowers and high net worth clients. He is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Chris Sharp has financed a variety of income-producing asset types over the course of his career, establishing relationships with borrowers and commercial mortgage brokers. He has nearly 30 years of experience in commercial finance.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2009, Mr. Sharp held senior origination and management positions with a variety of Canadian and international financial institutions. He arranged financing for commercial real estate, golf and resort properties, and construction/development projects. He was also involved in equipment and asset-based lending. Mr. Sharp is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
