Greg Russell is responsible for management of the high yield and construction financing platform in Canada. He has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial mortgage industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2015, Mr. Russell held key senior management positions at institutional and non-institutional lenders. He has extensive experience in the enhanced yield sector of the market. Mr. Russell was a key member of a private lending platform that was built from the ground up. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba.
Giulio Amodeo handles various types of financing, with particular expertise in construction and development financing. He works with privately owned development and real estate investment companies. Mr. Amodeo has 27 years of experience in the commercial finance industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2011, Mr. Amodeo spent 20 years with several prominent Canadian financial institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University.
Rob Caparelli handles various types of financing for all types of income-producing properties, both conventional and CMHC insured, as well as high-yield financing opportunities. He works with commercial real estate investors across all asset classes. Mr. Caparelli has over 5 years of experience in the commercial real estate and has been involved with transactions totaling nearly $1B.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2014, Mr. Caparelli attended college in Lake Forest Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Lake Forest College.
Paul Fallone has an extensive background in financing all types of income producing assets in major markets across Canada, with a particular focus on apartment, retail, office, and industrial buildings in Ontario and Quebec. His transaction experience includes an aggregate deal value exceeding $9B with a variety of products including term, value-add, and construction loans. He works with institutional investors and advisors, REITs, and private developers. Mr. Fallone has over 18 years of experience in commercial real estate.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2017, Mr. Fallone held various senior management positions at several prominent Canadian and international financial institutions. Mr. Fallone holds a Bachelor degree from Ryerson University, a Master of Business Administration and a post-graduate Diploma in Real Estate Development from The Schulich School of Business, York University.
Paula Gasparro specializes in CMHC insured financing for Multi-Unit Rentals, Affordable Housing, Seniors Housing and Student Housing. She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial and banking industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2018, Paula worked at Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC) for 16 years, most recently as the Manager, Multi-Unit Mortgage Insurance, bringing in depth expertise in commercial underwriting, product development, policy and client relations. Prior to CMHC, Paula worked at FCT holding numerous positions. Paula has completed the York University Project Management Professional (PMP), and CAAMP Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) program.
Harley Gold has extensive experience financing all types of commercial real estate, specifically hotels, senior homes, CMHC multi-family, land development and construction. He works with REITs, private developers, institutional asset managers and large private families across Canada. Mr. Gold’s portfolio includes over $6 billion in financing for more than 700 properties. He has over 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2008, Mr. Gold was active in the mortgage banking industry in the U.S. and worked with American lenders on lending programs in Canada. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, a financial services degree from Seneca College, and a Master of Business Administration from Canisius College.
Michael Matunin is responsible for building the construction loan origination platform focused on expanding CMLS’ interim financing. With more than 7 years’ experience in commercial and corporate real estate finance, he has delivered financing on asset classes ranging from land development, residential housing, commercial properties, and infrastructure projects.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2017, Mr. Matunin held senior positions with commercial real estate construction finance divisions, and moved to global corporate finance for interim and term construction. Mr. Matunin holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration from McMaster University.
Chris Minor is an expert in all income-producing assets, with a particular focus on multi-family, industrial and retail. He works with income-producing owners and developers across Canada. Mr. Minor has 13 years of experience in commercial mortgages.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2013, Mr. Minor worked for over a decade in the commercial real estate lending industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto with a major in economics.
George Misik specializes in land development and construction finance with a focus on multi-residential and long-term care facilities. He has 10 years of experience in commercial real estate, both in the private and public sectors.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2015, Mr. Misik worked for trust companies, a credit union and a crown agency, where he developed his strong underwriting skills in all types of income-producing properties, both conventional and CMHC insured. Mr. Misik attended the University of Toronto.
Doug Podd has an extensive understanding of the structuring of commercial real estate financing, with a focus on complicated structured commercial mortgages. He has more than 20 years of experience in various real estate finance capacities.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2016, Mr. Podd worked for a prominent investment banking operation where he was the lead debt arranger in Canada and placed in excess of $4 billion of real estate and infrastructure debt. He has also worked on the principal side for a private investor, as a lender for a leading life insurance company, at an international bank and at a Canadian mortgage bank. Mr. Podd holds a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Windsor University.
Chris Sharp has financed a variety of income-producing asset types over the course of his career, establishing relationships with borrowers and commercial mortgage brokers. He has nearly 30 years of experience in commercial finance.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2009, Mr. Sharp held senior origination and management positions with a variety of Canadian and international financial institutions. He arranged financing for commercial real estate, golf and resort properties, and construction/development projects. He was also involved in equipment and asset-based lending. Mr. Sharp is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Reggie Yong’s area of expertise includes financing for income-producing properties, land, land servicing, and construction. He works with commercial real estate investors across all asset classes. Mr. Yong has 6 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2016, Mr. Yong worked on the commercial real estate team of one of the largest banks in the world, focusing on both term and construction finance. He also worked in real estate audit for a major accounting firm and in equity investment for one of the largest banks in Canada. Mr. Yong obtained his undergraduate degree from York University and a post-graduate certificate in real property valuation from the University of British Columbia.
Andrea Cali is responsible for building the construction and interim financing platform at CMLS. With 8 years’ experience in commercial and construction real estate financing, she has financed a diverse range of asset classes including land development, residential, commercial/office and special use asset classes such as hotel, student residences and retirement residences.
Prior to joining CMLS in 2018, Ms. Cali held positions at several institutions across the financing spectrum and has developed a strong understanding of the construction financing eco-system in Ontario. Ms. Cali holds a Master of Finance from Queens University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
